Maybe i will never see Clara again
Or walk in the fields in the wind that brings rain
To that beautiful spot where the waterways meet
Just west of the Duhallow Town of Millstreet
I have not been in Claraghatlea for many years
And for the what used to be i have shed my last tears
But the memories in me remain as a source of joy
Of where i grew to love Nature as a young boy
The mentors of my childhood years at peace forever lay
And time it has left me looking old and gray
In Millstreet to many i would be a stranger today
Since from there i have been quite a long time away
And only the memories today linger on
Of my younger years in the forever gone.
