The babies born yesterday one day older today
And one day nearer to their end in truth one can say
Time always in a hurry it does not delay
It ever keeps ticking and ticking away
It is not of the aged the praises are sung
The town's elderly citizens are no longer young
They did have their innings one has to suppose
Time on their existence coming to a close
A myth at best in it not any truth
The story of Tir Na Nog the Land of eternal youth
Nobody remains young and time does tick on
And at the stroke of midnight today will have gone
Youth with anyone does not have a long stay
The babies born yesterday one day older today.
