In Millstreet Town Dan O' Leary was a man amongst men
A fearless defender in Hurling and Gaelic Football
On the field of play he always gave it his all
A likeable fellow who was widely known
It can be said of Dan he was one of Millstreet's own
An old online photo of him brings back a memory
Of the man that he was in the what used to be
Dan O' Leary lived as a great person to give him his due
And to his higher self he was one who was true
Though among the deceased of the Parish his last remains lay
His spirit is present when Millstreet line out to play
A Duhallow hero of the days of old
One who with pride did wear the Millstreet green and gold
A fearless and strong man in his physical prime
Memories of him live on through the Seasons of time
For everyone in life a last night and day
Even for the great Dan O' Leary a final hooray
To the ways of time he is one who has gone
But in Duhallow fond memories of him does live on.
