One can say it is a twenty first century thing
But self praise is no praise as the wise one did say
It is something that still remains relevant today
Leave it to others to say of how marvellous you are
And admire you for the size of your home or the size of your car
So many of the narcissistic inclined in the Human World of today
Yet these are the people who are furthest away
From their higher self though to many praise is their due
Than them those who are kind to others to their higher selves more true
The higher self does seem further away
From those who live for self only today
Whilst they have convinced many of how marvellous they are
And of on the success ladder they have climbed far.
