But in their secret thoughts they do not feel this way
Most politicians in politics for their own gain
Just like professionals in most other careers as a fact does remain
To ambitious people a career in politics great power does bestow
This is something most people of already know
Power with it to the aspirational success does bring
And of the praises of the successful many do love to sing
Many politicians are extremely ambitious people and among the self obsessed
By the desire for absolute power they are possessed
But among politicians there are a minority
Who at least do have in them some empathy
But sadly the compassionate politicians are of the few
And this is not saying anything that is new.
