It Is Not

It is not the honours in life you have won

Though these matter to many when all is said and done

Since the financially successful many do admire

And just to be like them in life their main desire

But those who are generous to the poorest of the town

And with money helps those who in life are down

And spend some of their income on those doing it tough

To be claimed as successful and good people good enough

They may not be among the wealthiest of the town

But they do help the financially down

For helping people living in poverty

They lead in good example by their generosity

Honours for themselves they may not win

But they help to make the World better for others to live in.
