Squashed by the traffic left to rot where they lay

The wildborn creatures that die on the roadway

Some of them their species on the extinction brink

This is quite sad even of for to think

With the increased motorized vehicle traffic of the twenty first century

Everyday on the roadway dead animals and birds one does see

At a time when many species in numbers decreasing even those common in their range

Due to habitat destruction as well as Climate Change

Something most people of would be aware

By the year many wildlife species becoming rare

Any child of the future sadly may never see

A koala eating leaves on a manna gum tree

With Climate Change and habitat destruction and deaths on the roadway

Wildlife numbers are on the decrease by the day

Many species endangered which seems sad to say

And for human progress this the price we do pay.
