His poems and songs live today as worthy of literary note
In Duihallow of the nineteen fifties he was one well loved and widely known
Back then one of in a league of his own
Where John Twomey migrated to i do not know of to say
But his poems and songs are sung and recited in Duhallow today
With words he was one who with did have a way
As a source of joy in his writing his part he did play
A well loved bard in Duhallow in his physical prime
But this is going back some six decades in time
Today if not deceased he is an elderly man
And in the late twilight of his lifetime span
He was a huge cultural loss to Duhallow when he migrated all of those years ago
As he was a great wordsmith happens to be so
