As He Lives Now

 Her love of another man has cost him the loss of his wife

But he carries on in his battle of life

His son in his early twenties close to his life's prime

Is one that he does see from time to time

In his late forties in his brown hair some grey

One who is well past his prime physical day

Twenty years ago one of the best footballers in the town

Back then he did enjoy some local renown

It seems the goddess of love on him does not smile

Any love relationship he has only lasts for a short while
