The praises of friendship so many does sing
But friendship can be an overrated thing
And some friendships do not come to a good end

Acquaintances are many but friends they are few
Perhaps this is saying something of you already knew
A good friend is one you do not gain every day
And this is only saying what is true to say

The one without a friend may not have a foe

Friendships are based on trust and trust is often betrayed
