Rhyme Is Living On

 Rhyme is a literary form that is in the long gone

But in rhymers Worldwide rhyme is living on

There are rhymers in every village and city and town

But rhymers nowadays are strangers to literary renown

The literary experts nowadays decide who is a poet

And who is a writer worthy to be called of literary note

They do dismiss rhyme as a thing of the past

But then few things in life ever does seem to last

On the worth of even the best rhymers the literary experts cast doubt

In the mid nineteen sixties rhyme was on the way out

There is no place in literature for rhymers today

At least this is what the literary experts do say

The days of rhyme may be in the long gone

But rhymers are living and they keep rhyming on.
