The Wedding

 The mid May morning air had a touch of late Autumn chill

In the town park when Nancy married Bill

One can say of her she was dressed to impress

She looked rather stunning in her long white wedding dress

And Bill rather handsome in his wedding suit

And the best men and bridesmaids looking handsome and cute

And the guests at the wedding all gathered around

One sad face among them was not to be found

But that the bride was pregnant was as obvious as can be

As the bulge in her wedding dress was plain to see

And when to the celebrants wedding pledge they answered i do

There did not seem that much love between the two

And their marriage vows was not sealed with a long lingering kiss

Just a quick embrace which few in the audience did not seem to miss

That in their interactions with each other love was not on display

They did not seem that happy on their wedding day

At their wedding reception at the nearby hall Nancy only had eyes for one of the best men Tim

By her looks of love she seemed quite fond of him

And bill was giving looks of love at one of  the young bridesmaids brown haired Bess

Looking rather pretty in her nice blue bridesmaid's dress

It turned out that to Nancy's baby boy Tim was proven the dad

And her marriage to Bill for them did end bad

She is happily living with Tim and their young son Joe today

Sometimes love and life does work in this way

And Bill he is living with the young bridemaid Bess

She too has an obvious bulge in her dress

And this time he feels sure he is a dad to be

That life and love have their stories would you not agree?.
