I could not help but overhear them as they bragged of their successful lives
Their big homes and their swimming pools, their cars and intelligent children and pretty wives
One must listen to thunder as the wise one does say
Such a very competitive Human World we do live in today
Just listening to them talking of their successful lives not good for my sense of self esteem
Since i am not seen as successful in today's World it does seem
But this into comparisons and such the thief of joy
This feeling of not being good enough some have since they were a girl ot boy
Those who brag of how successful they are have plenty with to compare
And people far more successful than they are to say the least not rare
Just listening to them bragging gave me heaps to think about
Of this compettition for material success i feel glad to be counted out
Of how marvellous they think they are they sure did leave me know
Yet my doubt on many of our human values only does seem to grow.
