On Little Ravens

Within their range little ravens are birds one does see every day
A series of quick sharp caws is all they have to say
By their voice and appearance of their identity they leave none in doubt
When they caw the long black feathers on their necks stick out

Little ravens are black feathered  medium sized species of  crow
They are birds that many people of do know
Than some humans far more intelligent is how they seem to be
Though many with this would surely disagree

I have seen them dipping hard dry bread to soften to eat in a Warrnambool lake
Quite a lot of intelligence for a bird something like this does take
And i have seen them open rubbish bins on what is a remarkable feat
For thrown out fruit, bread and chips and scraps of meat

On large nest of sticks high on branch of tree
The female lay pink dotted green eggs of six, five four or three
So little about them of i can claim to know
Only that they are an intelligent species of crow.
