She will never again see the greyness of dawn
Lighting the dark sky above Lackabawn
Deceased in her late fifties or early sixties she was not that old
But surely her story deserves to be told
Perhaps Noreen Barrett O' Brien the mother of four was one born to die young
But surely her praises deserve to be sung
A down to earth and attractive looking person she was free of guile
One who never did find it that hard for to smile
In Aubane she first looked on the light of day
And in St Mary's in Millstreet her last remains lay
One who had made many friends over the years
Her passing from life would not have gone without tears
Though this is going back many Seasons in time
In Melbourne she lived for awhile in her physical prime
And worked for a term in the Normandy Hotel
Of her adventures in life she would have had good stories to tell
Though the deceased for them never hear the funeral bell
For all of us from life a final farewell
Hope her parting from life for her was a painless release
Noreen Barrett O' Brien may she now rest in peace.
