Jock

 He is one who has walked on many a street 

And one as interesting as Jock one does not often meet

He arrived in Australia six decades ago

And time that ages all things has become his foe

From the old Scottish City of Aberdeen

One can say that a lot of life he has seen

He has worked and lived in many towns and cities in this vast Land of the south

And he is one who knows what living life is about

In his working life hard physical work to him was nothing new

He worked in building sites and many a pipe laying crew

He made many friends in his working life

But sadly Mandy the woman he loved who became his wife

In a motor accident died carrying their child fifty years ago

That life has it's heartbreaks happens to be so

Without any relatives growing old on his own

In the town by many he is loved and well known

The hair on his balding head is silver grey

And clearly he has known of a far better day

In his eighty fourth year without any children or spouse

He lives on his own in his two bedroom timber house.
