I have been told by some i have been wasting my time
In years of writing pages of doggerel rhyme
Their unsolicited advice to me is give penning doggerel away
But i do not pay any heed to me what they do say
Since penning of rhyme so much pleasure to me bring
I will just carry on doing my own thing
My literary advisers have money on the brain
And on the penning of rhyme see no financial gain
On pleasure and joy one cannot put a price
And i never do ask them for their literary advice
The millionaire and pauper i treat as the same
And i feel no desire for money and fame
The deceased billionaires in cemeteries lay
And their families are squabbling for their fortunes today.
