She was born into life as food and wool for humanity
The mutton i eat today is from a sheep who died for me
How old she was when she was slaughtered i cannot say
Only know her sort are being slaughtered for us humans to eat every day
Of sheep i profess to know little at all
But the words of one who knows a lot about them i do recall
That as flock animals they do have leaders just like us human kind
That in the behaviour of other life forms things in common we find
From where i live not that far away
Different breeds of sheep i see every day
Raised for their wool as well as for their meat
Born into life for us humans to eat
It is a fact that in slaughter houses and abbatoirs that they do keep
What is known to many as a Judas Sheep
She leads sheep to their slaughter up the slaughter ramp every day
Unbeknown to her that her own kind she does betray
Sheep they are creatures with ways of their own
And so much about them remains as unknown
The mutton i eat today was from a sheep who died for me
Most of us humans are carnivorous is how it seems to be.
