For your life you may not have much to show for in material or financial gain
But for your lacking in these things to anyone you need not have to explain
And since you do not owe anyone anything and always pay your way
You ought to walk with your head held high every day
To the judgements of others far too much attention you pay
Why even give thought of what of you they do say
Why give respect to the judgements of the judgmental of the town
Who derive great pleasure on verbally putting people down
These people who uphold rank and the social divide
Your worrying of what they say of you a loss to your sense of pride
The people they look up to Mother Earth's beauty trying to destroy
As well as trying to rob Nature lovers of what to them is joy
Why worry what they say of you those who glorify greed
Of any admiration from their sort you should not be in need.
