A tough World for many to live in after all it does seem
Where lack of money guarantees you low public esteem
Where the greedy and self centered are lauded and prized
And people for their kindness and compassion are not recognized
So many for attention with each other compete
In an age when the humble seem harder to meet
So many are obsessed with money and fame
If you are poor few do wish for to know of you by name
A sad World to live in for many when material wealth says more about you
Than how good living a person that you are can do
In a Human World where many of us lack in empathy
There should be far more to life than living for the me
But sadly the kindest and most compassionate people of every town
Live their lives as even strangers to local renown.
