Such sad news out of Millstreet in the prime of the May
John Corkery of Clarabeg from life has passed away
One for his generosity and kindness who was well loved and well known
In him Millstreet it has lost one of it's own
His passing so sad for his many friends and family
In his sixties death did come to him suddenly
Millstreet for his passing is a much poorer place
But death is a thing that we all have to face
The great gift of life from his body may have gone
But in all who did know him good memories of him will live on
In St Mary's in Millstreet his last remains lay
Around four kilometres from where he first saw light of day
In Clarabeg he grew to a man from a boy
And in life like most he had his moments of sadness and joy
One who did make for himself many a friend
But sadly his life's journey for him has come to an end
Among some of the deceased of Millstreet he now is at peace
Hope his passing from life for him was a painless release
His heart that beat with kindness is forever still
Not far from his birthplace by Clarabeg Hill.
