D J McCarthy as a young man was handsome fair haired and tall
And all who knew and knew of him good memories will recall
Of a kind hearted fellow who never harmed anyone
His late parents Elizabeth and Denis in him raised a good son
Survived by Breda his devoted wife
And his sisters Maureen and Theresa and nephews and nieces in his three sore and ten years of life
D J was one who made many a friend
And sad to learn his life journey for him has come to an end
In Pound Hill in Millstreet Town he first saw light of day
But he spent most of his life in Killarney where as a chef he earned his living pay
His passing from life would not have gone without tears
But good memories of him will outlive him by decades of years
He lived as a good person in truth one can say
And death is a thing we must all face one day.
