A feeling that transcends love of nation and race
This is known to many as love of place
A love that lives in every migrant woman and man
Of where the journey in life for them began
No matter your skin pigment black, white or brown
It lives in your memory the far away town
Where you grew to an adult as a girl or a boy
Fond memories of your homeplace ring your bells of joy
Memories of your young friends and the children games with them you did play
For as long as you live in you will stay
Though time has left you balding and your hair is grey
And you may be a stranger among them today
Your love of place in you does remain
In your moments of nostalgia for to visit again.
