In this competitive Human World to live in for many it can be tough
And it can be mentally hurtful to realize you are not good enough
To impress your boss to give you a raise in pay
This is not helpful to your sense of self esteem one might say
On your request for a pay rise your boss does tell you
There are plenty for to do the job that you do
But you cannot afford to quit since jobs are so few
And that many people are looking for a job start is not saying what is new
With the feeling of not being quite good enough you struggle to cope
And for a financially better off future you do live in hope
This feeling of not being quite good enough to live with not a nice thing
And any joy with it to you does not bring
But there are many others like you in the town
Who at their lack of financial success feel mentally down.
