It is only very recently that i have become aware
That he has drawn his life's final breath Mick Kissane from Kenmare
In Perth in Western Australia in kilometres far away
From that place in County Kerry where he first saw light of day
For many years he lived in Mt Evelyn in Victoria where after work he often drank in the Bayswater Pub
Where his favourite topics were Kerry Gaelic Football and Hawthorn an Australian Rules Football Club
One who worked hard for his livelihood as a self employed builder by trade
In those he befriended and had dealings with good memories of him will not fade
A few years ago he left Victoria to live near his Perth based family
Sad to think that in the flesh him we never more will see
In his late seventies in him a great loss to Ireland became Australia's gain
The accent he brought with him to his end he did retain
Quite a memorable character of him one can say
Far from his first home in County Kerry in Perth he lived his last day.
