A June Day In Duhallow

A June day in Duhallow in the dawning grey
The songbirds are singing to greet the new day
The sweet scent of freshly mowed grass wafting in the breeze
And the masses of white blossoms look resplendent on the hawthorn trees
The fields at their finest in their Nature's flowers
That have come to bloom in recent Summer showers
The voice of the cuckoo so pleasant to hear
June in Duhallow is a nice time of year
The weather looks setteled the sun rising red
A sign that a warm day may be ahead
The swallows are twittering as they do fly
On pursuit of flying insects high in the sky
The contented cattle chewing their cuds do lay
On nutritious young grass gaining weight by the day.
