Long Billed Corellas

 In their small range birds of the rural town parks and the countryside

Long billed corellas do not live Australia wide

Large white parrots with long hooked bills and red under throat and around their eyes

In large flocks they can be quite noisy at sunset and sunrise

With their long bills they dig for bulbs on the ground

And in large noisy flocks they do abound

Since they damage rural town parks where cricket and football is played

Due to their digging many enemies among fans and players by them has been made

In a cavity high in a eucalypt tree

The female lay white eggs of two or three

Perhaps due to their small range they are not widely known

But they are interesting birds with ways of their own

They can be rather noisy at sunset and sunrise

And once seen and once heard them again you will recognize.
