Far from the old streets he often walked up and down
He is ageing today in a far away town
In his late sixties time has become his foe
He only has memories of the long ago
Of the town where he began his journey in life
And the young woman he loved there who became another man's wife
He was young and he yearned for places far away
But she loved her hometown and there she did stay
She loved him and he promised her after a short while he would return to her again
She waited for him for a few years but her wait was in vain
The wanderlust in him to her he did not come back
His life journey took him down another track
Though he has made love to many women he does not have children or partner or wife
And he only did have one true love in his life.
