What we do to our Earth Mother to our own selves we do
For a better future for future generations of people it is up to me and you
And to every other human being in the World today
For our abuse of the Earth future generations will have to pay
What greedy people for financial greed are doing to Mother Earth is to all of our shame
The children of the future they will have us to blame
For extreme weather and famines the legacy of our human greed
For the poverty of the children of the future it is we who sow the seed
When we brag of our huiman achievements what have we to brag about
The Polar ice caps quickly melting in the far north and in the far south
Due to carbon dioxide emissions that we have helped to create
This is one human achievement we ought not to celebrate
Many species of wildlife facing extinction to think of such a sad thing
In time we may not be distant from our first silent Spring.
