In a high unemployment side of the town
Out of work and depressed and financially down
The Goddess of luck she is not on his side
And he even does entertain thoughts of suicide
Since he feels any hope for times better from him has gone
But a tiny voice in him urges him to go on
That better times of him may be ahead
And there is no future for one who is dead
Every day for a new job start he does apply
Without any success though hard he does try
In a high unemployment job market employers can pick and choose
And for one to win a job start many do have to lose
Not much hope of times better for one on the dole
In his early twenties and in a financial hole
But the tiny positive voice in him with his worries gives him the strength to cope
And of better days for him a glimmer of hope.
