On himself he is one who is rather tough
Since he believes he is one who is not good enough
As some of his contemporaries he fails to impress
The people who judge others on this thing known as success
And mostly for the lack of it is how it seems to be
of the judgments of the judgmental we will never be free
Many of the boys he went to school with have college degrees
Some of them are teachers and bankers and doctors and professors of universities
Compared to them he feels that in life he has not done well at all
But then the words of a wise person are worthy of recall
That success as is said can be a relative thing
And not everyone the praises of social climbers are known for to sing
In mid life he retains the low sense of self esteem that he had as a boy
It is true about comparison it is the thief of joy.
