Jim the octogenarian you will not hear complain
He says i am lucky to be ageing without an ache or pain
He does not have children or grandchildren to bring joy or sadness to his life
And he lives on his own without a partner or wife
Tall and handsome for one in his early eighties the hair on his balding head grey
Healthwise he is one who is feeling okay
On Saturday evenings in the pub's hour of song
He is one of the cheer leaders in the sing along
As nice an old bloke as one could wish to meet
With a big smile that betrays a gap in his front teeth
He is one who does not seem to have any care
And the joy that is in him with others he share
One of those who does win a new friend every day
About him he has such a likeable way.
