A truism that does seem hard to understand
A legal document gives proof you own your own piece of land
But how can we own to what we do belong
On our thinking on land ownership we have it wrong
The land you claim as yours as yours will not stay
To a similar earth you will return to one day
Or whether we are buried to decay or cremated to ashes do burn
In some form or other to the earth we return
And since in death anymore of it you are not in need
Of the property you once claimed to own someone else has the deed
The property that is yours as yours will only stay
Until the Reaper of lives on your life has the say
On our thinking on land ownership we have it all wrong
For how can we own to what we do belong.
