The Unsung

The people who perform good deeds every day
Unkind things of others they never do say
To help those in need of helping they regularly go out of their way
Without asking for recognition or any other form of pay

They are not the sort of people many choose to admire
Or to be like them feel any desire
To the hungry and homeless some joy they help to bring
Yet their praises you never will hear many sing

For helping to make life better for those doing it tough a huge part they do play
Yet for them you will never hear a hooray
For the good of humanity they sow the good seed
And of far more of their sort the Human World is in need

For this thing known as success and the admiration of others they never compete
And they are never seen where the big egos meet
Their names never appear on a memorial wall
Yet one can say of their achievements that they are far from small

The people who remain among the unsung
Some of them are old and some of them are young
They lead in good example on their side of the town
And their purpose in life is to help the financially down
