On the trees of East Gippsland above the water logged land after the flooding spiders webs do abound
Built by spiders who fled the rising flood waters from their homes on the ground
Glimmering in the sunshine after rain quite a beautiful sight
A display of Nature's beauty in the Winter sunlight
Ground spiders are vulnerable to predators without ground cover in to hide
But they will return to their ground homes when the ground dries out after the flood waters subside
Where no trees are ground spiders in their billions do drown
Tree removal to some of Nature's life forms can be a let down
In parts of East Gippsland where there are many trees
Billions of spiders webs shimmering in the breeze
Nature at her most beautiful one does not pay to see
Some of the best things in life to view are free
After the floods on low trees gleaming in the sunlight
To the beholder quite a beautiful sight.
