Migratory in their ways they travel far and wide
Olive backed orioles for them their common name
To look and act different to others their only claim to bird fame
Red bills and eyes and green on back and head
And dark stripes on their grey breasts and wings of them it can be said
That their difference from others birds makes them interesting since they do not reside in one place all year
And their quite beautiful song always a joy to hear
On bulky cup like nest high on branch of tree
That from the ground is never hard for anyone for to see
Two to four eggs with dark spots through the grey
The duller coloured females in their breeding Season lay
Distinctive in their appearance and their beautiful song
Once seen and once heard you will never again get them wrong.
