Though not everyone of you nice things do say
The one with many friends is not without foes
A truism of life one does have to suppose
One of the nicest people on your side of the town
Yet there are a few who verbally put you down
Those without an enemy are of the few
And this is not saying anything that is new
You may well win many but not everyone
Always a few who will knock you when all is said and done
Even the town's most popular people not everyone admire
And to be like them do not feel any desire
Those without friends are not without enemies happens to be true
Whoever first said this some credit is due.
