A bright day in June in this far southern place in this Land of the south
Intermittently the sun in a break in the clouds does shine out
For Winter one can say a nice enough day
Though the morning was cold and the grass with frost gray
Yesterday it was quite windy with rain
And the forecast for tomorrow wet and windy again
With the warmer days of Spring yet not anywhere near
Perhaps this is typical weather for the time of year
In the far south of the southern Land sunny hours in June are few
And this is not saying anything that is new
Near the depths of Winter when few birds do sing
Ten weeks from the southern calendar Spring
For the time of year quite a pleasant day
But the weather forecast for tomorrow has more rain on the way.
