You may have been found to be wanting in your great test
But someone always lose and you did try your best
You congratulated the winner and did lose with grace
And accepted defeat with a smile on your face
You did not make excuses and of the winner did say
That the better person did win on the day
Though it was for the winner the applause was loud
In defeat you did win admirers and you done yourself proud
The desire to do better in you is within
The next time you compete you will go all out to win
You are just one of those people who loves to compete
And today you admit one better you did meet
And though losing is a thing anyone does not choose
They do win some friends those with grace who do lose
