A Great Human Being

Wavy grey hair to her shoulders she is ageing with grace

She always has a smile on her beautiful face

A widowed grandmother in her seventies she looks well for her years

She is one of the town's most endearing old dears

A volunteer member of the town's Vincent De Paul

For the betterment of humanity she answers the call

Always helping the homeless and those sleeping rough

A friend to those in the town who in life are doing it tough

Of the happy and sad times of life she has known

Since her husband died five years ago she has lived on her own

A true friend of the locally financially down

She has always been helping the poor of the town

She is a great human being for to give to her what is her due 

And to her higher self in life she remains ever true

So kind, caring and compassionate in her own sweet way

One who does perform good deeds every day.
