Stories of the Eurasian wrens to legend gives rise
The male bird builds many nests as he has many wives
Though the cold and wet of Winter many of them do not survive
The females line the domed nest the male build and five to eight white brown dotted eggs lay
The young they are fully fledged and flying by May
With cocked brown tails dark eyes restless in their way
People who live in their range do see them every day
They spend hours every day searching for insects to eat
And berries to them are a delicious treat
The tiny males have such a loud and distinctive song
Once seen and once heard one never again get them wrong
Endearing little birds of them one can say
In gardens and backyards they can be seen every day.
