At Tower Hill

In the calm of the evening the sunlit trees standing still
The spirits of the Peek Wurrong people remain in Tower Hill
Even in pre volcanic decades this to them a meeting place
Where they used to socialize the Moyne Shire's first race
In Tower Hill home to koala, echidna, wallaby and grey kangaroo
Today you will not hear the dcrone of a didgeridoo
But today there the spirits of  the Peek Wurrong people remain
Why i can sense it here is beyond me to explain
The intermittent chirping of a honeyeater and a singing frog the only living sound
In Tower Hill this evening the silence is profound
On what is quite pleasant weather for late Autumn and May
The spirits of the Peek Wurrong are resting today
The evening is so calm and scarcely any breeze
And only the slightest of movement among the leaves of the trees.
