Tom Barrett was born and raised in the Town of Millstreet
In his younger years quite handsome athletic and tall
For the Millstreet G A A Club he played Gaelic Football
But in Castlegar County Galway from Millstreet Town far away
With his wife and his family he lived his last night and day
Perhaps in his sixties this seems young to die
But that death is not ageist is not a lie
Though his love of his first Hometown he did retain
His loss to Millstreet became Castlegar's gain
One who for himself did make many a friend
And sadly his journey has come to an end
It was by good example in life he did lead
And the news of his passing of so sad to read.
