Though the vermin rat and mouse are among their prey
A small bird though endangered to their taste buds taste nice
Cats do not confine their choice of prey alone to rats and mice
Between small or endangered species of wildlife they do not differentiate
To hunt and kill is in their nature for this them one ought not hate
Your beloved pet feline who purrs on your knee
Is not quite as harmless as it seems to be
Cats domestic and feral as well as foxes kill many small endangered wild species every year
That they are not environmentally friendly is obviouisly clear
But neither are most of us humans in truth one can say
On wildlife extinction a huge part we do play
That cats are not environmentally friendly happens to be true
But unlike us humans they are innocent killers for to give them their due.
