Heroes

The heroes of some do drive fast in cars

And the heroes of many strum on their guitars

And the heroes of millions good at sports or football

Though it is said of the wise they have no heroes at all

Not every hero knows of Worldwide renown

There are local heroes in every village and town

The heroes are applauded in every street parade

By the gullible masses all heroes are made

The heroes are lauded for honours they have won

But the hero to many is not a hero to everyone

That most hero statuses are temporary only true for to say

And the hero of last year may not be the hero of today

Those who do not have a hero to say the least are few

But to say it takes all sorts is not saying what is new.
