His nickname perhaps his best claim to local renown
One of more than a few who was a stranger to local fame
Sorry To Come and Jeremiah O' Keeffee were one of the same
Perhaps the reason for his nickname was he was one who found it hard to smile
But he was one who was free of conceit or guile
And honest in his dealings for to give him his due
And to his higher self he was one who was true
He lived in Millstreet Town for most of if not all of his life
As one unattached he did not have a wife
From selling of alcohol little profit he made
Since his pub it never did do a brisk trade
Yet he was a memorable person of him one can say
Since he seemed different to most in his own quiet way
Though any excitement to Millstreet Town he never did bring
He was a man who always done his own thing
Memories of the past from Millstreet Town only remain
In visualizations for to visit again
Most of Jeremiah O' Keeffee's contemporaries are not living today
And those who remember him are showing their years in grey
Time that ages everything becomes everyone's foe
Jeremiah O' Keeffee better known as Sorry To Come died many years ago
Not one of the well remembered in Millstreet today
In one of the local cemeteries his last remains lay.
