Their six month old calves by the farmer from them have been taken away
Cows like human mothers too miss their young and for them do grieve
And that they too have feelings not hard to believe
They have bellowed themselves hoarse which is so sad to hear
That they are in shock and grief does seem obviously clear
I found it hard to sleep listening to them last night
Their bellows so loud in the calm of the moonlight
They grieve for the offsprings they loved from them forever gone
But their grief will subside as time does tick on
Those who say only humans have feelings have got it all wrong
Feelings to most life forms are known to belong
They bellow for their young they will never more see
A lifetime together for them was not meant to be.
