In the twenty first century this seems a sad thing to say
And the poor losing out in the social divide
As the gap between those who have and have not keep on growing ever wide
The majority of the assets and wealth of the World is owned by the few
That inequality is rife in humanity is not saying anything that is new
Thousands grow poorer every day for every new millionaire
And most of the very wealthy minority with the poor do not share
Though the Reaper of lives who treats none as a friend
Makes everyone equal at their life's journey's end
Some are very wealthy due to their birth circumstance
And some grow wealthy due to good fortune or even by chance
And though for to live as poor anyone does not choose
For one to win big many do have to lose.
