A June Day In The Moyne Shire

The sun behind grey clouds is hidden away
It is cool and windy in the Moyne Shire today
Yet the birds who do sing every day of the year
The warbling of the magpies is pleasant to hear
A weather temperature high for the day of thirteen degrees
And the freshening wind soughing in the eucalypt trees
In early June at the start of the Winter three months from the Spring
A day without rain is quite a good thing
The coastal countryside green after the recent rain
And this of course only to Mother Earth's gain
Yesterday it did rain for a few hours or more
And the wind roared up hill from the Pacific shore
But today more pleasant though a bit windy at least it is dry
Though the sun does not shine through grey clouds of the sky.
