Australia's Kangaroo Road Deaths

To see kangaroos dead on or by the roadways in Australia not an uncommon sight
A lot of them hit and die blinded by car or truck headlights at night
Far more of them die during night than the day
Marsupials do not have good road sense in truth one can say

Though kangaroos are not endangered it is obviously clear
Thousands of them die on the roads every year
From car damage anyone who has hit a kangaroo has a sad financial story to tell
Some drivers after colliding with a big roo in the accident have died as well

Kangaroos are more nocturnal than diurnal most of them rest during the day
For being in an accident with a kangaroo for the driver always some price to pay
On hitting a big roo a driver needs luck to survive
And the car may never again be roadworthy to drive

In Australia there are millions of marsupials but most road kills are of  grey or red  kangaroos
And on such accidents some drivers unfortunately their lives do lose
That in Australia kangaroos are quite plentiful is not a lie
Though on the roadways at night some of them die.
